Nov 14, 2012

News Round-Up:

London 2012: Around 263,000 London 2012 Olympic tickets - out of 10.99 million sales - went unsold, reports in Britain say. That figures is thought to include 1,047 tickets for swimming, 2,327 for diving and thousands of day passes for the Olympic Park, even though shoals of swimming fans could not get their hands on a ticket for love nor money. A further 55,000 Paralympic tickets went unsold, reports suggest. Figures also suggest that 76.3 per cent of Olympic tickets and 91 per cent of Paralympic tickets were sold to the UK public.

Australia: Bernard Savage, swimming's high performance science manager Down Under, is to take over Triathlon Australia's (TA) high performance programme. Savage will succeed Michael Flynn as the national performance director for triathlon in January and lead the programme until the 201g Olympic Games in Rio 2016.
