Double Olympic medley champion Stephanie Rice has complained that her parents still have no tickets for the swimming at London 2012, in common with a fair few others from the Aussie swim fan club because of the lottery system of ticket sales that Games organisers opted for.

In Canberra yesterday for a relay camp at the Australian Institute of Sport, Rice told the Canberra Times: "My parents are finding it really hard to get tickets. They have really struggled but they know how important it is to me for them to be there. The hardest part is the fact there are no tickets available regardless of the cost."

Rice noted the importance of having those who have supported you through thick and thin there when it counts. She also confirmed that the shoulder injury that has dogged her over the past few years has been kept under control but requires constant monitoring.

"The last six weeks leading into the nationals I kept it at a pretty decent state and I'm trying to maintain it leading into this preparation," said Rice. "Obviously when we build up training and intensity it becomes more vulnerable, so I need to make sure I'm ticking every box with massage and physio and icing my shoulder after every session. Some sessions just aren't there and we have to learn when to back off and make up for what I miss."
