Prinsloo, Schoeman & Trott Join 2012 Crew

At South African nationals in Durban, Suzaan van Biljon, Chad le Clos, Darian Townsend Karin Prinsloo, Roland Schoeman and Wendy Trott swam inside the cut for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Van Biljon led from start to a 2:26.74 victory in the 200m breaststroke, while Le Clos and Townsend clocked 1:58.97 and 1:59.34 respectively in the 200m medley final. 

Prinsloo booked centre stage for the final of the 200m backstroke tomorrow with a 2:10.74 semi, while Trott clocked 8:28.79 in the 800m free heats and Roland Schoeman led the dash qualifiers in 22.08.

Charl Crous won the 200m backstroke in 1:59.94, ahead of Darren Murray, on 2:00.67, but neither achieved the required standard. Crous is already on the team for the 100m.
