Laure Manaudou (FRA) and Filippo Magnin (ITA)i, both world champions in March this year, have been voted Europes's top female and male swimmers of 2007 in a poll organised by the European Swimming Federation (LEN) - one vote per nation - its LEN Magazine editors and aquatic sports journalists.

Best female swimmer: Laure Manaudou (FRA)
Along with Libby Lenton (AUS, six golds), the leading female athlete at Melbourne 2007, with four individual medals, including wins over 200m (world record) and 400m freestyle, silver over 100m backstroke (European record) and 800m freestyle and a bronze in the 4x100m free relay
Best male swimmer: Filippo Magnini, Italy
Melbourne 2007, 100m freestyle, joint gold with Brent Hayden, Canada.
Best male diver: Gleb Galperin, Russia
Best female diver: Yulia Pakhalina, Russia
Best synchro’swimmer: Gemma Mengual, Spain
Best male water polo player: Miho Boskovic, Croatia
Best female water polo player: Blanca Gil Sorli, Spain
Best male open water swimmer: Thomas Lurz, Germany
Best female open water swimmer: Larisa Ilchenko, Russia
