FINA has ratified two World Record performances by Jenny Thompson at the FINA World Cup 3 in College Station, Texas on Dec 1-2, 1998. Jenny bettered her own World Records in the 50m and 100m butterfly. Her times were 26.05 and 56.90 respectively.

FINA also ratified Fred deBurghgraeve's World Record time of 58.79 in the 100 breaststroke set on Dec. 3 1998 at the U.S. OPEN in College Station.
