Michigan State Men Fall To Indiana

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior John Munley (Kalamazoo, Mich.) led the Spartans with two first-place finishes in Michigan State's 148-95 loss to Indiana on Sunday, Jan. 30.

Freshman Joe Brennan (Poway, Calif.) captured a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle event with a time of 9:29.70.

The Spartans' 200 freestyle relay team of Munley, sophomore Scott Shafer (Centerville, Va.), senior Trevor Asti (West Bloomfield, Mich.) and senior Chad Ganden (Lisle, Ill.) finished first with a time of 1:25.49.

Senior Diver Casey Guntzviller (Wixom, Mich.) led Michigan State in both the 1- and 3- meter dives. Guntzviller scored 281.40 points in the 3-meter to take second and 243.67 points in the 1-meter to finish fourth.

The Michigan State men's swimming and diving team (2-5 overall and 0-3 Big Ten) will be in action again on Feb. 4-5 at Michigan, with Ohio State. The meet starts at 6 p.m. on Friday (Feb.4) and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 5).
