Stanford Men Lead After Day 2 At Pac-10s

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Stanford won the 200-meter medley relay and the 800 relay free to finish the second day in the lead at the Pac-10 Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the King County Aquatic Center. Stanford is the 18-time defending Pac-10 champions and lead the championships by a 505-to-438 margin over California.

Cardinal relays finished first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:26.68 and in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a mark of 6:25.94. Junior Steven Brown (Reno, Nev.) took the title in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:46.18 and freshman Dan Westcott (The Woodlands, Texas) secured his spot as Pac-10 champion in the 100 fly with a time of 47.61. The Cardinal also received a first place finish from junior Adam Messner (Ann Arbor, Mich.) in the 200 frestyle after he posted a time of 1:34.35. Freshman Randall Bal (Fair Oaks, Calif.) rouneded out the Cardinal first place finfishers on day two, with a meet best 47.29 in the 100 backstroke.
