The third day of swimming at the South American Swimming Championships saw several more meet and South American records fall. Mens Highlights:

• Alexandre Massura BRA set a meet record in the prelims of the mens 50m backstroke with a time of 26.22
• Luiz Lima BRA set a meet record in the finals of the mens 1500m freestyle with a time of 15:22.65

• Fabiola Molina BRA set a South American and meet record in the prelims of the 50m backstroke with her time of 30.10 and then bettered the record in the finals with a time of 30.05
• Ivi Monteiro BRA set a meet record in the 100m butterfly with her time of 1:03.36
• Brazillian Womens 4x100m free relay team set a meet record with their time of 3:51.14
