USA: Cesar Cielo (BRA) laid down his first 50m free markers of the years with efforts of 22.38 in heats and 22.20 in finals at the Southern Zone-South Sectional Champs in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The meet, which concludes today after four days of racing, also had Cielo's fellow Brazilian Felipe Lima out front on 1:02.05 in the 100m breaststroke; Jose Schooling, of Bolles, ahead of Ryan Lochte in the 100 'fly, 54.71 to 55.20, and Gators-based Russian Arkady Vyatchanin on 55.09 in the 100m backstroke ahead of Ryan Murphy, Bolles, on 55.40.

Norway: At Norwegian short-course nationals in Stavanger, Henrik Christiansen, 16 and racing for Lørenskog/Rælingen, set new Norwegian junior records of 7:52.56 to win the 800m freestyle and 15:02.11 to win the 1500m freestyle, his split in the longer race a 7:58.39. The meet concludes today after four days of racing. In other action, Sander Smoerdal claimed the 100m free on 49.84; Cecilie Johannessen took the 200m and 400m free in 1:57.37 and 4:14.49; Siri Kristiansen clocked 2:25.68 to win the 200m breaststroke; Monica Johannessen on 59.62 to 1:00.40 for Klara Farkas in the 100m butterfly; Sindri Jakobsson took the 100m and 200m 'fly in 53.44 and 1:57.90; andSara Nordenstam clocked 4:48.51 to win the 400m medley.
