Pellegrini's L/C 200 Back Debut: 2:10

Freestyle is what Federica Pellegrini (ITA) is known for but the 2008 Olympic 200m champion turned over for the Trofeu Milano at the weekend and clocked 2:10.99 in her first long-course 200m backstroke race.

The meet also witnessed solid mid-season efforts from Fabio Scozzoli, world s/c champion, on 27.51 and 1:00.90 over 50 and 100m breaststroke; Gregorio Paltrinieri, fresh from signing a deal with Arena, on 15:06.66 in the 1500m freestyle; Laszlo Cseh (HUN) 1:58.49 in the 200m butterfly ahead of Francesco Pavone, 2:00.36; Cseh also won the 200 and 400IM in respective efforts of 2:01.52 and 4:20.94; Alice Mizzau, on 1:59.32 in the 200m freestyle;  Stefania Pirozzi, on 2:09.58 in the 200m butterfly; 

In the 50m freestyle, Bruno Fratus (BRA and ADN Project) got the touch over on Luca Dotto (ITA) 22.23 to 22.45, with Sergey Fesikov (RUS, ADN Project) on 22.67. Dotto took the 100m in 49.12.

Other winners included Gianluca Maglia, on 1:49.87 in the 200m freestyle' Elisa Celli, on 2:28.20 in the 200m breaststroke; Flavio Bizzarri, on 2:15.39 in the 200m breaststroke; and Martina Caramignoli, on  16:26.94 in the 1500m freestyle.
