New Start In Sweden For Vorontsov

Sweden: Dr Andrei Vorontsov, former head coach to Russia and before that based in Britain, is heading to Stockholm, where he will be one of two coaches to be based at the National High Performance Center in the Swedish capital. Vorontsov, who announced he would be moving on from his job in Russia in the wake of the London 2012 Olympic Games, will start his new job on January 1. Russian swimmers won two silvers, Anastasia Zueva and Evgeny Korotyshkin, and two bronze medals, Yulia Efimova and the men's 4x100m free relay, at London 2012.

Germany: The Deutsche Schwimm-Verband (DSV) has added Caroline Ruhnau und Paulina Schmiedel to its team for the World Short-Course Championships in Istanbul next month. Both will race as members of the 4x100m medley relay quartet, Ruhnau, 28, on breaststroke and Schmiedel, 19, on butterflydie Schmetterlingsstrecke.
