Joensen Flies Faroes Flag In Moscow

Nov 2, 2010

The arena world cup moved to Moscow for the penultimate round of the series today. The finals were mostly Russian domestic affairs and times reflected the bumping of calendars, most using the cup series for training purposes, many European swimmers bypassing Eindhoven and the European s/c championships this year, and those intending to race at peak form this winter heading for Dubai next month and the world s/c championships. Hero of the Faroes, Pal Joensen, European l/c silver medallist over 1,500m free in the summer, took the 400m free in 3:45.56 ahead of home hopes Evgeny Kulikov, 3:45.83, and Alexander Selin, 3:46.29.
