Italy’s Valerio Cleri claimed the world 10km title at world open water champs in Roberval, Canada today, the minor spoils going to Russia's Evgeny Drattsev and Vladimir Dyatchin. The water temperature was reported at 17.5C and 16C  at each turn end. Chilly. Just as was the reception from many federations to last-minute suit approvals that marred the event and flew in the face of the spirit of what FINA Congress agreed on suits last July.
