Spain: At the start of this season, Rafa Munoz, world championship medallist on 'fly for Spain last year, forgot to tell anti-doping authorities of his whereabouts for a reported period of 9 months - and now faces a possible sanction for his error. A month shy of the big European event of the summer, the continental long-course championships, Munoz is still waiting to hear what penalty might be coming his way - and when. Against that backdrop, the Spaniard will race this weekend at the Andalucian summer champs, 50m and 100m free and 'fly.

USA: At the Los Angeles Grand Prix, previously the Janet Evans Invitational, former world champion Kate Ziegler and Olympic champion over 1,500m free Oussama Mellouli led the way in the distance events, with Ziegler setting a meet record of 8:31.05 in the 800m. Mellouli got a tiny edge on Chad LaTourette, 15:11.22 to 15:11.23. In the final, they meet Canadian Ryan Cochrane, the only sub-15minute man so far this year. Ziegler takes on Chloe Sutton.
