
On the last night of action at the 2010-suits 2009 AT&T s/c National Championships in Federal Way, Rebecca Soni (Plainsboro, N.J.) and Nathan Adrian (Bremerton, Wash.) led the charge. Soni clocked 2:05.12 over 200y breaststroke ahead of Canada’s Annamay Pierse, on 2:07.62, a touch ahead of 2000 Olympic 100m champ Megan Jendrick (Tacoma, Wash.), on 2:07.88.
Adrian (Bremerton, Wash.) took the 100y free in 41.80, 4th best ever, ahead of William Copeland (Lexington, Va.), on 42.59 and Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill.), on 42.67.
Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu won the 200y 'fly in 1:53.37. On Saturday, Hosszu, world 400m champion in Rome, faced 2007 world champion from Melbourne, Katie Hoff (Towson, Md.) over 400y. Hoff is on her way back to best form: she won in 4:01.95, to 4:04.17 to Hosszu. The men's equivalent saw Robert Margalis (St. Petersburg, Fla.) win in 3:45.24 ahead of Brazil’s Andre Schultz, on 3:46.66, and World Championship silver medallist Tyler Clary (Riverside, Calif.) third in 3:48.30.
