The NDPA National Drowning Prevention Symposium takes place from March 13-15 at the Hotel Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale, in Florida.

The schedule includes an opening speech by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, while workshops include:

Utilizing Partnerships and Earned Media to Communicate Pool Safely Messaging - Jim Luetkemeyer, Vice President Widmeyer Communications, and Kathleen Reilly, Pool Safely Campaign Leader Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Among presentations Mario Vittone, US Coast Guard and author, will speak on immersion hypothermia, drowning, sea survival, and safety at sea and Mike Haggard, president of The Haggard Law Firm, will talk on drowning among children, with focus on "Supervision, Barriers & Entrapment".
