UMass Downs Central Connecticut, 151-126

AMHERST, MASS. - Junior Becky Hunnewell (Sandwich, Mass.) won the 100 back (59.72) and the 200 back (2:08.74) as the University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team defeated Central Connecticut, 151-126, this afternoon at Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool. With the win, the Minutewomen improve to 2-0 on the season.

Other winners for UMass included freshman Christen Dexter (Centerville, Mass.) in the 100 breast (1:07.86), junior Andrea Kazanjian (Troy, N.Y.) in the 100 fly (59.25), junior Anne Dettloff (Barrington, Ill.) in the 200 free (1:55.72), sophomore Lizzy Boyle (Darien, Conn.) in the 50 free (25.29), sophomore Kate Allery (South Hadley, Mass.) in the one-meter diving event (229.13), and junior Alyssa Rooney (Natick, Mass.) in the three-meter diving event (206.55).

The Minutewomen return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 11, when they travel to Boston University to take on the Terriers at 1:00 p.m.
