Clemson's Peterson Named Women's ACC Swimmer of the Week

CLEMSON, SC - Clemson junior Caroline Peterson was named ACC Swimmer of the Week after leading the Tigers to a win over in-state rival South Carolina last Saturday. Clemson defeated the Gamecocks 153-88 to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Peterson, a junior from Franklin, TN, took two individual first-place finishes. She won the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.59, finishing nearly a half-second ahead of the next competitor. Peterson dominated the field in the 100 freestyle, finishing more than a second ahead of the field in a time of 51.63. Peterson also swam a leg on the 400 freestyle relay team that also won first place.

The Clemson men's swimming and diving team hosts Georgia Tech this Friday at 6:00 p.m. before both teams travel to Athens, GA, on Dec. 1-3 to compete at the Georgia Invitational.
