Le Clos Seals Spot; Louw Inside 49sec & Cut

At South African nationals in Durban, Chad Le Clos, after a 1:55.30 in semis, clocked 1:56.17 to confirm his place in the Olympic 200m butterfly this summer. The silver, without Olympic lining, went to Sebastien Rousseau in 1:57.88, a touch down on his 1:57.63 from semis.

In semis, Gideon Louw clocked an Olympic qualifier of 48.74 in the 100m free to book centre stage for the final.

There were no women qualifiers on the day, Karin Prinsloo taking the 200m freestyle in 1:59.53 as the sole sub-2-minute swimmer, South Africans chances of having a 4x200m squad in action at London 2012 reliant on the final FINA cut of the top 16 in the world come June.
