First Five Russian Men On London Team

On day 2 of Russian nationals in Moscow, five men made the cut for the London 2012 Olympic Games. 

First up, Alexander Tikhonov clocked 4:15.24 in the 400m medley to book an Olympic ticket well ahead of the chasing pack. The next two on to the team were Evgeny Korotyshkin and Nikolay Skvortsov, on 52.07 to 52.08 in the 100m butterfly. Arkady Vyatchanin, on 53.91, and Vladimir Morozov, 53.93, were a class apart in the 100m backstroke.

There was disappointment for Veronika Popova, on 55.15 in the 100m freestyle, 0.58sec outside target time.
