Mar 30, 2012  - Craig Lord

Milorad Cavic, the man who got closer to any other (0.01sec over 100m butterfly at beijing 2008) to stopping Michael Phelps, has left ADN Swim Project after a 4-year collaboration. The Serbian is now back in the United States to prepare for the 2012 London Olympics, under the guidance of Mike Bottom, Coach of the University of Michigan Men's Swimming Program.

At coach Andrea Di Nino's programme Cavic took the world 50m 'fly title in 2009 and finished second to Phelps in the 100m in the second sub-50sec effort, the times reflecting the use of shiny suits since banned. The Serbian swimmer talked to SwimNews about the 2008-09 rivalry with Phelps at the recent London Olympic test event.

ADN’s General Manager Joseph Di Giulio said of Cavic: "We are very happy with what we have achieved with Cavic, not only with his medals but also for helping him solve a back problem that he had since 2006." He and the ADN team wished Cavic well for the future.
