An Indiana swim coach who criticised USA Swimming's response to sexual abuse cases has himself now been banned from coaching for two years after he admitted to violating the sport's code of conduct.
Ken Stopkotte, Fishers Area Swimming Tigers coach, has agreed to a deal that includes a two-year national coaching ban and a five-year ban from coaching teams in Indiana, according to AP.
Indiana Swimming made an announcement on the case today. Stopkotte had been accused of violating its code of conduct many times over, including 180 instances of altering race times.
The agreement came just before a scheduled arbitration hearing on Monday. Indiana Swimming said that the deal requires Stopkotte to admit he was solely responsible for fraud, deception and dishonesty.
