Rome, eternal city of the last world champs of the shiny suits era, will no longer be home to LEN, the European Swimming League: the body is moving to  Luxembourg, home of current President of the League, Nory Krutchen.

The move comes 15 years after LEN set up office in Rome, a majority of LEN members voted at the weekend for the move to Luzembourg. A LEN statement noted: "The alternative would have been Lausanne in Switzerland. Financial and administrative considerations within a long-term conceptional and strategic programme led to the move of location, as LEN President Nory Kruchten disclosed. The financial office of LEN has been based in Luxembourg for more than a year."

Meantime, the Bureau awarded the 2011 LEN Congress to Reykjavik in Iceland; the next Congress will take place in Limassol, Cyprus next year.; and Belgrade will host the 2011 European Junior Championships in Swimming, Diving and Synchronised Swimming.
