Byron MacDonald has won his second television Gemini award—winning the category of Best Sports Analyst for his commentary at the 2008 Olympic Games.

He beat out top analysts Mike Milbury from hockey and Glen Suitor from football.

It is the second Gemini that MacDonald has won, having won the trophy in 2004 for his olympic coverage when the award was given for the category of paly-by-play and alalyst tandem. This time the award was split. It is worth noting that Steve Armitage, MacDoanld's partner in the booth at the Olympic Games, won the Gemini in the category of best sports play-by-play as well.

It is Armitage's third career Gemini--two from swimming and one from his soccer coverage for the world cup in the 80's.

"It’s a great thrill," said MacDonald.  "I try to inject my love for the sport of swimming into the broadcast and I think its working. To be recognized for all the hard work is a great accolade."
