FORD KONNO WON FOUR OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS
Ford Hiroshi Konno was born in 1934, swam at McKinley High School, Hawaii, and Ohio State University. He won four medals at the 1952 and 1956 Olympic Games. At Helsinki, Finland, Konno won gold medals in the 1,500-meter free-style and the 400-meter free-style swim relays. His time of 18:30:3 in the 1,500 swim was an Olympic record. He is a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
