Pieter v.d. Hoogenband is competing this week at the French Nationals and World Trials in Chamalieres, France.

On the first day of the champs he competed in the 400 free and beat frenchman Sylvain Cros for the first place spot. Their times were 3:51.03 and 3:53.62.

In the only other final event of the evening Marjorie Distel won the womens 400 IM event in 4:50.98

Canadian Nadine Rolland who is taking part in the competition was disqualified in the semi final of the womens 100 butterfly.
