Amanda Beard Signs With PMG Sports and Goes Pro

California native, Amanda Beard who stole the hearts of America in 1996 when she won a Gold and two Silver Medals at the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta, only to follow up in 2000 with a Bronze has signed with PMG Sports for representation and marketing.

Beard, 19 who was ranked as low as 25th in the 200m Breastroke in 1999, made her gigantic comeback in heroic fashion by making the 2000 Olympic team by beating favorite Megan Quann and joining the team with Olympic Silver Medalist and American Record Holder, Kristy Kowal.

Immediate plans are still somewhat under wraps, but Beard will most likely train in Irvine with Olympic coach Dave Salo and the Irvine Novas.

PMG Sports' President Evan Morgenstein is thrilled with Amanda coming on board, "Amanda has been in the American eye for many years. She became almost a household name at the age of 14 years old! It seems like so long ago, but she is only 19. We see so many opportunities for her. Modeling, spokeperson for shampoo and cosemetics, the list goes on and on."
