Based on the performances at the French Championships this past week, the French Swimming Association has selected their team to particpate at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.

A surprisingly small team of 4 males and 1 female were selected. Missing the team was Roxana Maracineanu, the defending 200 back World Champion from 1998 and the silver medallist at last year's Olympic Games. With such a small team France will not be entering any relays.
