Sandra volker won the womens 100m freestyle at the german championships in Braunschweig in a time of 54.53. This is her 36th national championship title. It was also the first time since 1996 that she has been under 55 seconds.

Annika Melhorn has set the best time in the world so far this season with a 4:41.11 in the womens 400 IM event.
