IOC Voting Takes Place Today In Moscow

Jul 13, 2001

Today is the big voting day for the IOC. They will vote for the city to host the 2008 Olympic Games.

The main cities in the running are Toronto, Beijing and Paris with Istanbul and Osaka also in the running but with little support. The big race seems to be coming down to Toronto and Beijing. We'll know later today.

Also on the voting block this week is the leadership of the IOC itself. Its seems to be a 3 horse race between Dick Pound of Canada, Jacques Rogge of Belgium and Un Yong Kim of Korea.

The race leaders in this one seem to Dick Pound and Jacques Rogge. This vote will be determined later this week.
