Claudia Poll Announces Plans for 2004-2005

Oct 29, 2004

Undeterred by missing the finals in both the 200 and 400 freestyles at Athens for the first time in three Olympiads, Claudia Poll has announced her competition plans for the 2004-2005 season.

Poll and her coach Francisco Rivas have planned a schedule of eleven competitions, culminating in the 2005 World Championships in Montreal. This will be Poll's fourth long course world championship appearance.

According to Coach Rivas, Claudia hasn't stopped training since the Olympics, and is eager to compete. Her first steps towards Montreal will be taken during the Arena Grand Prix meets to be held in Italy next month. The competitions, which will be held short course, will be held over ten days in four different locations.

A mainstay on the FINA World Cup circuit, Poll has also penciled in appearances this year for stops in Sweden, South Africa, and Brazil. This year's FINA World Cup schedule begins in December.
