Lady Longhorns defeat Kansas, 192-107

Oct 19, 2004

Texas women's swimming and diving opened its season strong, capturing event titles in 13 of 16 events, en route to a 192-107 dual-meet win over the University of Kansas in Robinson Natorium on Thursday, Oct. 14. Senior Kaela Humphries (Chaska, Minn.), sophomore Elizabeth Tinnon (Bowling Green, Ky.), freshman Macie Garrett (Nashville, Tenn.) and sophomore diver Ali Bunting (Grafton, Wis.) each captured individual titles in multiple events to lead the Longhorns.

"As a whole, the team did a great job," said Texas co-head coach Jill Sterkel. "We had a pretty long travel day today and I thought they did a good job of staying focused and taking care of business when it would have been real easy to come in a little flat."

Texas took the lead right from the start, earning the top-two performances in the first event of the meet
