Moses Betters Own 200 Breaststroke World Record in Berlin

Ed Moses (USA) bettered his own 200 breaststroke world record with a 2:02.92, improving on his previous best of 2:03.17 from two years ago in this same Berlin pool.

The record time was worth 1041 IPS points and now becomes the top performance of the current FINA World Cup series. Moses also won the 50 breast in 26.68.

Other top men's performances:
Thomas Rupprath (GER) won the 100 backstroke in 51.47 (995 IPS points), Alessio Boggiatto (ITA) with a 4:06.37 in the 400 IM beat world record holder Brian Johns (CAN) well back with a 4:09.25. Ryk Neethling (RSA) won the 400 free in 3:39.91 for an African continental record,

Martina Moravcova (SVK) wom the 100 butterfly in 56.93 (1006 IPS points) in a strong field that had Jenny Thompson (USA) in second 57.09 and Petria Thomas (AUS) third in 57.16.

The USA leads in medals with a total of 6 (2-3-1) with 20 different countries winning at least a medal.
