Moravcova & Milosevic set World Records

Martina Moravcova of Slovakia who swims and attends SMU broke the 100 IM World Record today with a time of 1:00.43. She also managed to set a European record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.72, bettering the time of 57.93 which itself was the new European Record set earlier in the preliminaries by Inge de Bruijn of the Netherlands. Yesterday Inge set the European Record in the 50m butterfly.
In the men's events Milos Milosevic of Croatia set a new World Record in the 50 butterfly with a time of 23.30 narrowly beating Mark Foster of Great Britain by 4/100 ths of a second. In the men's 4x50 free relay the team from the Netherlands set a World Best time of 1:26.99. This event is not recognized as an official event by FINA.
