$15,000 US World Record Incentives For World Short Course Championships

FINA - PRESS RELEASE
Swimmings world governing body, FINA, today announced a $US15,000 world record incentive for the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Hong Kong in April.

The incentive will be paid for EACH world record to be broken at the championships to be swum between April 1 and 4.

It is the first time FINA has offered world record incentives for any world championship competition.

Hong Kong will stage the fourth World Championship meet. It follows the previous meets in Palma de Mallorca in 1993, Rio de Janeiro in 1995 and Gothenburg in 1997.
