Records Fall for Thomas Rupprath at the German SC Championships

Rostock GER - Thomas Rupprath sliced nearly a second and half off the men's 100 metre backststroke European Short Course record at the German SC Championships in Rostock on Sunday. Rupprath clocked 50.80 seconds to beat the mark set by Croatia's Gordan Kozulj of 52.24 at the FINA World Cup last january in Berlin.

On saturday Rupprath broke his second European Short Course record claiming the 200m butterfly record, finishing in a world time of 1:51.21 seconds. His butterfly time beat the previous record of 1:51.58 set by France's Frank Esposito in January of this year.

A day earlier he broke his own European record in the 50m backstroke with a time of 23.75 seconds, his previous record was 24.03.
