Hometown Trio Lead University of Lethbridge Horns in Winnipeg

First year Horns Brock Murray and JD O'Connell joined second year Mark Dewar in posting top performances at this past weekends Prairie Winter International swim meet in Winnipeg.

The threesome, all LA Swim Club graduates, attained their Canadian Interuniversity Championship qualifying standards for the first time. O?Connell?s qualifying swims came in the 50 freestyle with a 23.96, good for 5th place, and in the 100 Fly with a 57.22, good for a 7th place finish. Murray posted two strong swims in the 200 Fly with a morning swim of 2:08.71 that lowered his lifetime best by 3 seconds, and a repeat 2:08 swim in the finals for a strong 7th place finish. Dewar waited until his last swim of the weekend to meet the qualifying standard, posting a lifetime best 2:12 in the morning heats, a two second drop, and lowering that time again by three more seconds in the consolation final with a 2:09.21, good for second place.

The competition featured over 500 swimmers from across North America, including top National and Olympic team members.
