TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to the Stults Aquatic Center for their first home meet of the season. The Lady Seminoles defeated the Ospreys of North Florida, 123-88 while the men's team defeated Georgia Tech by the score of 136-105.

The Lady Seminoles got off to a quick start by winning the first seven events on the day and never looked back from there. Summer Bell led the way winning both the 50 Free in a time of 24.06 and the 100 Butterfly in 57.80. Christy Cech also had a strong meet finishing first in the 200 Free in a time of 1:53.41 while also placing second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 58.83. Other winners were Jennifer Smith in the 1000 Free (10:45.69) and Amber Goodwin in the 200 IM (2:11.11). The Lady Seminole relays took the first two spots in the 200 Medley Relay. In diving, Chelsie Lerew won both the one-meter springboard and three-meet springboard.

The Seminoles won nine events in today's meet as they broke away to defeat a much-improved Yellow Jacket team. Senior Greg Main-Ballie led the charge once again for the Seminoles winning both the 200 Free (1:42.02) and the 200 Back (1:51.61). Nnamnse "The Rocket" Ammons also contributed with two first-place finishes in the 50 Free (21.43) and 100 Free (47.54). Other top finishers for the Seminoles were Richard Cowling in the 200 IM (1:54.07) and Devin Crock in the 200 Fly (1:53.26). The men's relay teams also took the first two spots in the 400 Free Relay to solidify the victory. In diving, Josh Edelman won the one-meter springboard and James Korten won the three-meter springboard.

Both the men's and women's team improve their records to 3-0 on the young season. They will travel to Tempe, Arizona next weekend. The men will compete against both the University of Arizona and the Broncos of SMU, while the women face-off against Arizona.
