St. Cloud Opens Season With A Win

St. Cloud, MN - The SCSU women's swimming and diving team gained a 132-90 win at South Dakota to open its 2000-01 season on Nov. 4. First place finishes at the meet were posted by Tesia Zuba in the 200 IM and 100 Breast, Beth Matson in the one- and three-meter diving events, Heather Miller in the 100 Free and 50 Free, Beth Lococo in the 100 Fly and Kim Braun in the 400 Free.

The 400 Free Relay team of Amanda Emil, Lococo, Braun and Miller also gained a top spot. On the men's side, the Huskies suffered a 113-75 loss at USD. Winners for SCSU were Gabriel Kern in the 100 Free and 100 Free, Micah Eberle in the 100 Back, Zach Sundquist in the 400 Free and 100 Breast and the relay team of Kern, Eberle, Tim Hillen and Jason Polasek in the 400 Free Relay.

The Huskies will continue their season on Nov. 11, when they host the SCSU Invitational at the Halenbeck Aquatics Center.
